Your hammer hits hard but is slow and unwieldy like many heavy weapons in other games. Previously, Quill only had a sword, but that returning weapon is joined by two new choices: a hammer and a chakram. There’s also an unfortunate creature known as a ripper, who the Reader can fling like a pinball directly.Ĭombat will be quite a familiar scene for anyone who played the original, but Polyarc has expanded Book 2 with a few new options. Book 2 expands the previous roster of mechanical beetle enemies with new foes, like an armored shell variant which can only be cracked open with a special weapon. You’ll frequently get interrupted by Arcane minions blocking our path, which Quill and the Reader will have to defeat in often drawn-out fight sequences. Of course, we all know it’s never that straightforward. Considering how impressive Moss's first book was, it'll be exciting to see what Polyarc has managed with the sequel.Quill’s goal is to find the glass shards she needs to stop Tylan, hopping her way through a ruined castle, a garden conservatory, arctic mountains, a steel foundry, and more to do so. Polyarc says that Moss: Book 2 will be filled with more interaction, more challenges, and more emotion. There's much more for players to discover in Moss: Book 2 on their own. Players will be able to interact with the Ripper by "grabbing" them in-game and rolling them around to create a more dynamic VR experience. Polyarc promises that there will be many new enemy types to be found within the sequel, including a rolling bug-like enemy named the Ripper. Moss: Book 2 will also have plenty of combat, too. With the new features, Quill will have much more platforming depth than prior. For example, the player can "paint" vine bridges and climbing walls to gain access to previously unreachable areas. These new nature attunement abilities will allow the player to help Quill as they explore and adventure through Moss: Book 2. As such, Quill has new abilities previously unseen. The video starts in the gardens of the castle where Moss ended, but it's already some few chapters into the game itself. The gameplay video, as well as a blog post from Polyarc, explain that Moss: Book 2 will pick up immediately after the end of the first game. It should be worth checking back in after several months or so. While no other platforms have been confirmed as of yet, the first book of Moss did launch on PC and Oculus Quest down the line. Much like the first game, it appears that Moss: Book 2 will be exclusively available via PS VR at launch. Polyarc will be releasing the sequel on March 31, less than two weeks from now. Moss: Book 2 will be launching on PS VR sooner than many may have expected. Development of the sequel has now progressed far enough that Polyarc is comfortable confirming a release date for Moss: Book 2. The completion of Quill's quest in Moss was just the first chapter of the first in a series of books, however, as Polyarc is now hard at work on Moss: Book 2. The virtual reality adventure game put players in the task of a book reader experiencing the story of Quill, a young mouse, in first-person. In 2018 developer Polyarc released one of PlayStation VR's best exclusives, Moss.
